Track 8: Education in Cloud, Cluster, and Internet Computing
Education in topics related to cloud, cluster, and Internet computing is a grand challenge for the 21st century. Over the past decade, student counts and heterogeneity have increased rapidly, and the knowledge base and societal applications have diversified significantly. The CCGRID community is very interested to explore the question of how to educate the next generation in the relevant fields. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Curriculum, pedagogy, instructional material, and technology for education and training on cluster, cloud, and - Internet-scale computing;
- Teaching parallel and distributed computing (PDC) and systems / methodology in cluster, cloud and Internet computing / performance and evaluations / virtual laboratory / emerging technologies;
- Experience reports on incorporating HPC and PDC topics into core Computer Science, Computer engineering, Computational Science or Data Science courses;
- Training of cyber-professionals and workforce development;
- Reproducing educational experiments;
- Remote teaching and learning;
- Non-classroom-based training such as hackathons and boot camps.
